Why Aerial Yoga Should Be On Your Resolution List

Top 5 reasons to add aerial yoga to your list of resolutions.

1. For improved flexibility:

Are you getting older? Yes! Are you more prone to pull a muscle? Yes! Why is this? Because if you aren't practicing some form of yoga, or incorporating a stretch routine into your daily life, you are losing your flexibility. Flexible joints require less energy to move through a greater range of motion. This decreases your overall risk of injury and increases physical performance as well. Stretching works towards decreasing resistance in muscle tissue during any activity. Furthermore, it helps increase blood and nutrients to tissues.

2. For stress release:

Aerial yoga encourages you to become weightless, physically and mentally.  By quieting your mind, you can actively let go of stress, worry, anxiety, and fear. This is important, especially coming into a new year. While in your cocoon, protected from the world, you give your mind a chance to reconnect with your soul and body. This provides a chance to evaluate your passions and goals.

3. For a clear mind:

Aerial yoga brings about a certain mental calmness and clarity. Life’s circumstances actually feel less cumbersome after a bit of moving and breathing. Inversions get your adrenaline pumping, while releasing “happy” hormones like serotonin, endorphins, oxytocin, dopamine, which boost your mood and ability to react to life events.

4. For a total body workout:

Due to the nature of aerial yoga movements, almost all of your body parts are forced to move and stretch. Muscles are toned and redefined, and joints are regenerated and strengthened due to these movements.

5. For a sense of accomplishment:

You may feel out of your comfort zone, but that's the point. Growth happens when you try something new! This is one resolution you can mark off today, or this week! Click here to view our schedule and fly into the New Year with purpose.
